Oklahoma Historical Society’s New Route 66 Documentary to be Shown at ShowBiz Cinemas in Edmond

OKLAHOMA CITY — The public is invited to a free screening in Edmond of the Oklahoma Historical Society’s new documentary “Crossroads of America: Oklahoma’s Route 66.” A trailer is now available on the Oklahoma Historical Society’s YouTube channel.
The film will be shown on Thursday, October 15, at 7 p.m. at ShowBiz Cinemas, located near I-35 and Covell Road in Edmond. Doors open at 6:30 p.m. The event is free, but tickets need to be reserved in advance to secure a spot.
This documentary examines the evolution of Route 66 in Oklahoma, from the hardships of the Dust Bowl era to post-WWII road trips. It explores the highway’s history and future through interviews with historians, interactions with small-business owners and scenes created using virtual production technology filmed at the Cherokee Film Studios.
